Minute of who we are

"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:29-30)

Friends talked about the sense of loving God and loving each other, of the power of our mystical experiences, and of the importance of the disciplines of patience, waiting, and listening. We talked about our struggle to hear God's will as we call out and nurture each other's ministries and gifts and as we seek to lay aside personal ambition, humbling ourselves before God, so that we may be open, as a corporate body, to hearing God and being faithful. 

In worship, there is a cherished unity among us when we are yoked together to seek and listen for the Holy Spirit.  We look to Quaker traditions, including the use of Scripture, for structures and guidance as to how to support our ministries and bring out and discern the leadings that we have, both as individuals and as a corporate body.
